Offered on our minimalist Sterling Silver miniature Dog-Tag –

Fordite was created through American automakers’ now-defunct practice of spray painting cars by hand. Overspray in the vehicle painting bays gradually accumulated over time forming colourful layers which hardened to make a visually spectacular ‘stone’ characterised by its layers of colours and psychedelic swirls.

No two pieces of Fordite will ever be the same — Each will be as unique as its owner.

Fordite is a man-made gemstone. It originated due to overspray in the vehicle painting bays which gradually accumulated over time forming colourful layers. The Fordite we use is steeped in Automotive heritage – sourced from many prestigious factories such as; Ford, Jeep, and Corvette line at the Chevrolet plant in Detroit.
